Blue Aeroplanes: Bop Art 1983, Party Records

Οι Blue Aeroplanes από το Bristol της Μεγ. Βρετανίας είναι περισσότερο γνωστοί ως ένα πολύ καλό indie/alternative rock σχήμα που μεσουράνησε κυρίως τη δεκαετία του 1990. Βέβαια το συγκρότημα εξακολουθεί ακόμη να υπάρχει και να κυκλοφορεί καινούργιο υλικό. Όταν όμως κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο τους με τίτλο "Bop Art" εν έτει 1983 δεν είχαν αυτόν τον γνώριμο (και κάπως mainstream) ήχο. Θα μπορούσαμε να τους περιγράψουμε ως αρκετά τολμηρούς σε εκείνα τα πρώτα βήματα, ενδεχομένως δεκτικούς σε ηχητικούς πειραματισμούς. Ίσως η πρώτη τους σύνθεση που περιείχε και μέλη των Art Objects να συνετέλεσε σε αυτή την τάση για πειραματισμό καθώς σε αυτό το πρώτο άλμπουμ εξερευνούν και post punk μουσικές φόρμες, μεταξύ άλλων.

Ευχαριστούμε για ακόμα μία φορά τον φίλο The Unspeakable που μας παραχώρησε το rip του άλμπουμ. Δόθηκε και σε εμάς η ευκαιρία να το ακούσουμε και να το αξιολογήσουμε προτού το ανεβάσουμε. Δεν σας κρύβουμε πως πολύ καιρό τώρα ετοιμάζουμε αυτή την ανάρτηση -όλο αυτόν τον καιρό ακούγοντας το "Bop Art", κάθε φορά με "νέα αυτιά". Πρόκειται για ένα "ανήσυχο" άλμπουμ του οποίου η προοπτική αλλάζει σε κάθε άκουσμα και περιέχει αρκετές πειραματικές φόρμες, θραύσματα ήχων και αναζητήσεων που μοιάζουν να συγκεράστηκαν τυχαία. Επίσης θα λέγαμε πως είναι ένα μελαγχολικό άλμπουμ όμως όχι με συγκεκριμένο τρόπο και αυτός είναι ένας από τους λόγους που αυτό το LP είναι πανέμορφο. Κάθε άκουσμά του αποκαλύπτει διαφορετικά μουσικά στρώματα που το κάνουν να ακούγεται είτε υπνωτικό, είτε οργισμένο είτε μελαγχολικό, ακόμα και αδιάφορο ώσπου επιτέλους να αποκαλυφθεί στη διάθεση του ακροατή. Πρόκειται λοιπόν για ένα "δυνατό" άλμπουμ που αξίζει να ακουστεί από κάθε αναγνώστη αυτού του blog και όχι μόνο! Καλή ακρόαση!!!

ENG: The Blue Aeroplanes come from UK's Bristol and they already well known as an outstanding indie/alternative rock band that were at their zenith mostly in the 90's. Nevertheless, they are still writing music and releasing their stuf today. However, when they released their first LP "Bop Art" in 1983 they hadn't establish this settled (and somewhat mainstream) sound. We could just describe their early work as being quite bold and experimenting, at the same time. The early Blue Aeroplanes synthesis included members from another band called Art Objects and this explains why they sounded so differently. We suppose they explored all forms of independent rock music, new sounds and forms of the 80's, post punk in particular.
Once again we are thankful to The Unspeakable for offering his own rip. So, we were given the chance to listen and evaluate the music before we decided to upload it for you. It's no secret that we have been preparing this post for quite some time - constantly listening to "Bop Art" - every time with a different mood and "new ears". In every sense it contains some restless music and its perspective seems to change everytime you listen to it because it reveals a multitude of experimentation forms, like tiny fragments of sounds put together in a random manner. We could also call it somehow melancholic and moody in an unspecified and intangible way and this is one of the main reasons why we consider it as a beautifully made LP. Every hearing reveals different layers of music; hypnotic, raged, melancholic, even uninteresting until it is finally "there" for each listener. This is an album with potential that definitely deserves wide recognition. Have a good listening to this gem!!!
