Friend and contributor The Unspeakable has provided us with some excellent rips. One of them is the "Mosaic Fish" LP by the Canadian group Tulpa. Released by the legendary independant label Midnight Music in 1985 and it is actually the only studio LP of the group (however there's a live recording in CBGB's New York too). The band were Chris Bottomley (bass, vocals), John Bottomley (guitar, vocals), Sev Micron (drums, vocals), Tom Walsh (trombone), Nic Gotham (alto saxophone). They played post punk music with lots of experimental-conflicting elements Jazz, funk, etc.). Leading with a dynamic and poweful rhythm section, then echoing "crystal" guitars compete with the full-of-energy and -most of the time- epic vocals. As for the trombone and alto saxophone, they interfere by adding so much to the atmosphere of their music. Concluding, we should mention that their name, Tulpa, isn't by chance. In terms of Tibetan Buddhism the word means "Thoughtform", which is as taken from wikipedia: "the process consists of giving palpable being to a visualization, in very much the same manner as an architect gives concrete expression in three dimensions to his abstract concepts after first having given them expression in the two-dimensions of his blue-print". Thus "Mosaic Fish" is a tangible masterpiece created by Inspiration... how else can you explain these great songs: "Rome is Burning", "Mosaic Fish", "Initiation Rites", and "Crosses on the Berlin Wall". Get it Here!!Here's a little treat... Tulpä's self-made video for "Life's So Strange":
